All I can say is 'wow'..
I'm sorry I've been away for so long. Since the store opened I've been working a lot and going to classes so by the time I get home I am never in the mood to do anything! I literally haven't had a life for the past couple of months. I'm trying to change that though.
I am pushing myself to get back into the blogging spirit. I think instead of solely focusing on makeup, since the store is now like my second home, I will start posting about things at the store. I am not quite sure how this is going to work, but I guess we will see as it goes and if you have suggestions or anything I'd appreciate the feedback :)
Also, if I do any fun projects or activities outside of work I will post them as well. (I saw a super cute dessert on QVC the other day that I'm dying to try for valentines day!)

Weekend According To My iPhone
This weekend was pretty packed, And I've been super busy lately helping open the shoe boutique! Here's a few pictures from this weekend and today:
Painted my nails festively for Thanksgiving
We had an opossum stick his nose up to the back door window- super weird!
Made yummy Red Velvet cupcakes filled with guava and made cream cheese frosting from scratch. I bought a piping kit and will never spread icing on with a butter knife!
Aaand we put up the Christmas tree. Normally we do this the weekend after Thanksgiving but we won't be in town so we chose to do it early.
Today I checked out the store and they put down carpet, painted the walls and put up the slat walls. Now we have to move furniture in, install shelving and we'll be ready to move merchandise in!
Hope y'all had a fabulous weekend!

My Weekend According To My iPhone
I thought I'd try something new. My cousin's girlfriend, Candice, has a blog - rosesandrambles.com - and on Monday's she posts an entry titled "My Weekend According To My iPhone." So I thought I'd copy her idea for my blog! And go visit hers! She posts so many cute things! :)
We got Bosco a dog bed - from Marshalls, but Princess took over :)
New jewelry holder from Marshalls!
Spent Sunday at the farm. Everything was static-y!!
Grooming Snappy - one of my favorite boys :)
Love this time of year when the horses get their winter coats. So furry!
One of my favorite soon-to-be racehorses!

Haul!!
It feels good to finally do a haul again! MAC's Winter Collection has a lot of gorgeous eye liners, paint pots, and shadows - jump on that if you can!
Side note - I say in the video that Tidal Rave has purple in it, but it doesn't. I think the pot they had out in the store just had another color put into it accidentally. It's a shame though, I really wanted it for the purple!

While out taking pictures, I saw a fox! Of the 21 years I've lived here I've never seen a fox in my backyard! He's not focused in any of the pics I took - he (or she!) was moving pretty fast and I was so excited I couldn't focus the camera :)

I'm CURSED I Tell You!!
I come to you tonight, or today - wherever you may be, with a blog post that I just could not wait to write. The reason?
I am one of the girls that has been cursed with small feet...And I think inserts will be my new best friend.
Now, I have always been annoyed with shoe stores NEVER having my size (I'm a 5 but I can never wear size 5 heels without straps or my foot will slide out) and I've pretty much gotten used to it. I rarely buy shoes anymore because of that! But now that I'm helping open a shoe boutique, I thought I could take advantage of the situation just a little and push the boss to get a couple of shoes my size. Well that worked perfectly. Today I was looking at one of the companies invoices. I noticed they had the wrong size run down - they had it starting at size 6. I called and they told me they must have ran out of the 'A' run (typically starts with size 5 or 5.5 and runs up to 9) so they shipped us the 'B' (typically starts at size 6 and runs up to 10). It was the shoe that I was hoping to wear to the grand opening of the store. Doesn't that always happen? To me it does. Normally I don't get upset about this, but today I was pretty miffed. So about an hour ago I was laying in bed, ready to go to sleep and I randomly thought to search for the shoe online. And by golly I found a 5.5! The 5.5 will be a tad big on me, but there's inserts for that..
I stumbled upon these sold at Nordstrom's, they are $25 - I'm afraid to see how much with shipping! One of the reviews on the product sounded like my situation, and she claims they work superb. Nordstrom's inserts look padded therefore I think they would work better than the toe and heel gel inserts I found on Aldo's website. Those are between $5-6.
Another thing I think would work, but my mom insists it wouldn't, is stuffing something into the toe of the shoe - like a soft piece of foam. Any thoughts on that?
Sorry I rambled so much about the darn shoes, I should be used to all that by now, but when you're really looking forward to something like that you can't help but get a little ticked off :)

Celeb Series : Selena Gomez
I was watching Tia and Tamara Mowry's reality show and I really loved their makeup! That inspired me to do a celebrity series of makeup looks. First I'm starting with Selena Gomez. I found this picture of her online and loved her makeup.
I wish I could do the exact look, but I don't have the colors used on her. So I used the closest colors I could. I first started using NYX Milk Jumbo Pencil all over my lid. Next I used my MAC Dashing Lassie Eyeshadow Palette. I got it either last Christmas or a couple Christmases ago. On the lid I mixed A Dashing Lassie, a frosty silver, and Magical Mist, a taupey shimmer. In the outer corner I used Showstopper, a deep chocolate with purpleish undertones. I then used a black felt tip liner and my Benefit They're Real Mascara.

Absent much??
I hate that I haven't been able to keep up with this thing lately, but my weeks have been exhausting. I went from going to classes twice a week and doing nothing else the rest of the week to leaving in the mornings and not getting home til early evening every day! I have a few looks lined up that I will do this week - they're all celebrity inspired. But for now, here's some pictures and updates on what I've been doing:
First up, I've been going to my mom's co-worker's house in the afternoons to play with her German Shepherd, Scout. She is just the sweetest dog ever! I've always had a love for GS's - my dog is half GS - so spending the past two weeks with her has been great. She's so energetic and always wants to play, if I had arms of steel and could throw the ball for hours she would go for hours! Here's a couple pictures and a video. I recorded the video to send to someone, that's why I said what I said.

The pool is her water bowl. She REFUSES to drink out of a bowl!
On a sad note, we took our beautiful loving cat to the vet last week and, to our disappointment, found out she has lymphoma (a type of cancer). It's around the lymph nodes in her chin area. She has been breathing more heavily and snoring lately and we were told it's because the nodes are swelling and starting to hit her trachea. My mom has decided to keep her around until she isn't comfortable anymore, then we'll have to put her down. It's been a year since we had to put our last cat down. Pets are a blessing, but they become such an important part of the family it's like putting a brother or sister to sleep. It was so hard for me putting down our last one, I told my mom I didn't know if I could go with her if we had to put Princess down. I have since changed my mind after she told me we're doing it for the cat, and she want's her last memories to be of us with her, loving on her. All we can do now is love on her and just know that she's had a long life full of love (the vet said she's outlived about 90% of cats - she's 15). The day after we took her to the vet, we put out a little headstone for our two cats that we buried beyond our fence line in the backyard. Surprisingly we got this one from ACE Hardware Store for pretty cheap.
Princess has found a new favorite spot - laundry basket in my bathroom :)
Geez just writing about that gets me teary eyed. Moving on. Last weekend, for work, I went to Atlanta with my boss to the AmericasMart Atlanta Apparel Show. Basically it's a big building with 12-13 floors of clothing, shoes, jewelry and handbags. In other words, HEAVEN! We were shopping for at least 15 hours that weekend and I'm pretty sure I tried on more shoes that weekend than I have in my 21 years of living! We were able to get a lot of super cute shoes and accessories and handbags! I'm so excited for the store to open - I already have my shoes and jewelry picked out (ones we got from the show lol) for the grand opening, now all I need is to find a dress! Here are some pictures from the event.
On the main floor there was a fashion show. Some of the individual stores had their own fashion shows
This is just a third of it. Plus there were show rooms behind the stores you see. It was overwhelming, but amazing.

These are the shoes I plan to wear! I'm wearing a super cute zebra blinged out bangle and matching pendant necklace. I will post pictures when we receive everything and the night of the event.
This was on the way home - the sky was beautiful that evening.
Aaaand what I got to come home to :)
